Organimi's custom field options allow you to create any field you like.
This feature is particularly useful if you want to create different organizational charts that serve different purposes, such as project planning or onboarding.
You can also control privacy by deciding which custom fields should be displayed publicly e.g. job title, and which ones you would rather keep private e.g. salary.
Note: For privacy reasons, you must enable the custom field information you want to display on your chart.
- To access custom fields, select an organization.
- Click the following tabs:
- SETTINGS
- FIELDS
Add a computed custom field
- Click Add New Field.
- In the Field Type field, click the down arrow.
- Select Computed. Create computed fields by adding formulae.
- In the Field Label field, type the field name.
- Click Field to add fields to use in the formula.

In the Action section, click Field to create the required formulae (See examples on the right side of the screen).

Click Add Field to save your changes. The applied formulae and values appear on the screen.
The newly created field appears under your organization's Field tab.
Select a field from the Do it Yourself or Ready Made tabs.
Fields in the:
- Do It Yourself tab are field types that you select and name to add that field to your organization. For more details see Add custom fields.
- Ready Made tab are fields that already exist in Organimi. if you select them they are added to fields available for display in your organization. These fields have a predefine name. You can change the name if you wish.

Branch Office | Use this field to indicate on your org chart a person or role is at the Branch Office. |
Current Work Location |
Use this field to identify a person's exact work location or to showcase where in the world your remote workers are based. |
Department |
This field displays the department a role or person is a part of on your org chart. |
Due Date |
In a project org chart, you can use this field to display milestones. |
Emergency Contact |
Use this field to display a person's emergency contact. This is an example of a private field. For details on how to make a custom field private, see Create public and private custom fields. |
Emergency Email |
Use this field to display a person's emergency email address. This is an example of a private field. For details on how to make a custom field private, see Create public and private custom fields. |
Emergency Phone |
Use this field to display a person's emergency phone number. This is an example of a private field. For details on how to make a custom field private, see Create public and private custom fields. |
Emergency Relation |
Use this field to display a person's emergency relationship which includes but is not limited to son, daughter, husband, or partner. This is an example of a private field. For details on how to make a custom field private, see Create public and private custom fields. |
Employee # |
Use this field to display a person's employee number on the org chart. This is an example of a private field. For details on how to make a custom field private, see Create public and private custom fields. |
Employee Skills |
Use this field to display any special skills that a person may have - e.g. CPR, programming languages, or skills specific to a role e.g. Advanced SQL knowledge, registered nurse (RN). |
Expiry Date |
This field is best used for contractors, part-time workers, or volunteers. You can add an expiry date to their role card. |
Fun Facts |
Bring your org chart to life by adding something about a person that no one knows - e.g. Billy likes surfing! |
Hire Date |
Use this field to display the date a person was hired. This is an example of a private field. For details on how to make a custom field private, see Create public and private custom fields. |
Job Classification |
Job classification identifies what a role does for a company, determines job responsibilities and classifies all roles, and put them on a standardized scale based on overall tasks, responsibilities, pay level, pay, salary grades, and authority levels eg. CEO, director, customer service and VP Marketing |
Job Contract Type |
Use this field to identify contractors and part-time people. |
Nickname |
Add a nickname to a person - e.g Thomas (Tom) Throne. Tom would be the nickname. |
Salary |
Use this field to display a person's salary. This is an example of a private field. For details on how to make a custom field private, see Create public and private custom fields. |
Seniority Level |
Use this field to display the seniority level of a person or role - e.g. VP marketing. |
Start Date |
Use this field to display the date a person started with the organization. This is an example of a private field. For details on how to make a custom field private, see Create public and private custom fields. |
