You can add custom fields to your organization and choose to display them in your org chart on role cards using custom formats.
Note: For privacy reasons, you must enable custom field information you want to display on your chart.
In this example, we are going to add a Contractor text field.
- To access custom fields, select an organization and click on the FIELDS tab.
- If you wish, you can click the Import Fields button to copy custom fields from a different organization that already has custom fields set up.
- Click Add New Field
- Update fields in the pop-up window as follows:

- In the Field Type, click on Text.
- In the Field Label field, type the field name (for this example, we will keep it as "Contractor").
- Choose if the field applies to Person or Role.
- Choose if this field needs to be a Private field. Please note that private fields are only accessible by organization administrators and account owners. They will be hidden when shared with less privileged users.
- Choose if this field can be Searchable. If No is selected then any value added to this field will not be searchable (using the search bar) for users with viewer access or public/embed link viewers.
- Click Add Field

- After creating the custom field, it should appear like below in the FIELDS tab.
