Role Card Visual Design & Theme Styles Update

Role Cards: Organimi’s new role card design now features a clearer layout and enhanced usability, including distinct color and badge bars, simplified drag-and-drop functionality, and organized expand/collapse controls. Plus, new Organimi "Theme Styles" offer preset options to customize your charts with a single click!

We have recently updated the visual design of the role cards in org charts. The new design enhances the visual appeal and the usability of org charts by improving consistency, alignment, layout, and visual flow. The diagram below shows the new design items compared to the previous design. Note that there is no change in functionality.

• The color bar has been made more distinct and stacked on top or to the side of the card. When no color is chosen the card content alignment is now correct.
• The badges have been given their own location in that badge bar which can be stacked on top or to the side of the card next to the color bar to be distinct and visible.
• The “hover” menus and drop locations have been improved to be less obtrusive and allow for much easier access to the expand and contract controls.
• Drag and drop no longer requires a “drag handle” to get started, but a simple click and drag to move or copy a role or group of roles.
• Single clicking on a card will open the details pane as it always has.
• Double-clicking on a role card will now open the “edit role” modal window if the user has the access rights to edit the chart.
• The collapse / expand controls and role counts have been moved to the right.
• A few new “Organimi Themes” have been added to the list of predefined themes that users can either use directly or copy and modify to fine-tune the visual layout of the charts and role cards.
