In Organimi, you can create the following six (6) different types of role cards:
- Single
- Shared
- Assistant
- Department
- Link to chart
- Location
This table contains a brief description of each role type. Follow the link for a more detailed explanation.
Role Type | Description |
Single | This is a single role like CEO or VP Marketing. Use this role type for a role filled by one individual. |
Shared |
For positions where there are multiple people in the same role and in the same reporting structure. For example, Sales Associate or Customer Success Rep can be a shared role with multiple individuals you want to appear in the same role card on the chart. |
Assistant |
Use the Assistant role type to add an assistant to a single, shared or department role. Commonly used for an Executive Assistant to a CEO or other C-level executives. |
Department |
Use this role type to create a department such as Marketing or Engineering. You can also use it for "non-people" cards in your structure, like an office, or product team. Explore the flexibility of this role type. It can be useful for things like the printing by Department option. For details, see V7 Print sections of a chart. |
Link to Chart |
This is a quick and easy way to manage very large charts by breaking them up into smaller components. Use this role type to link multiple sub-charts to the main org chart. |
Location |
Use this role type if you have a number of different locations for your organization, such as factories, offices, or different divisions and subsidiaries. It provides a geographic link and you can then build the organization chart below it. |
