Spotlight View

Spotlight view helps highlight a specific role card in the hierarchy by visually emphasizing it (for example, with focus, zoom, or dimming surrounding roles). This makes it easier for users to quickly locate, analyze, and discuss a particular position while maintaining context within the overall organizational structure.

Note: 

• Users cannot drag and drop the highlighted role
• Spotlight view is available only for Traditional hierarchical charts

There are 4 ways to open the Spotlight view:

1. Via Navigation Bar: Click the Spotlight icon on the left navigation bar.
2. Via Search: Use the search bar to find a specific role or person, then click the Spotlight View icon next to the result to highlight the role card.
3. Via Top Bar: Click the Roles Tree icon in the top bar, then select the role you want to highlight in Spotlight view.

   • In Spotlight view, the tree structure displays the selected role as the focal node, showing its direct reporting line — including parents, children, and siblings — in a simplified vertical or radial layout. This helps you clearly understand the role's position, relationships, and impact within the hierarchy, without the visual clutter of the full org chart.

     

4. Via Role Card Menu: Hover over a role card, click the three-dot menu, and select Spotlight Role.

Additionally, to toggle the visibility of indirect reports, click the Show Dotted Lines icon in the Spotlight view top bar.
