Use Organimi Connect to automatically create an org chart in minutes using data from an Excel spreadsheet.
All information attached to the person will be imported including their photo, name, email address, department, manager, job title, job description, cost center, building ID, floor location, floor section, all Custom Attributes that you have set up in G-suite. (These can be mapped to custom fields in Organimi)
You can keep your org charts up to date, which means that as your spreadsheets are updated, your org chart is also updated.
Note: Organimi checks for changes in org charts every hour.
- From your dashboard, select Data Import.
2. From the Organimi Connect screen, select IMPORT CHART.
3. On the Begin Your Import pop-up screen, in the Select an Organization field, click the down arrow and select the organization in which the chart will reside.
4. Click SELECT.
5. Follow these instructions to complete the import process:

- Select Excel
- Click +Upload Your File
- Select an Excel file from your device.
- On the Import Options screen,

- Resulting Chart Information section, click the down arrow and select
- Import New Chart to build a new chart
- Update Existing Chart to update a chart that already exists
- In the Chart Name field, type a name for your chart
- In the Chart Type field, click the down arrow and select the type of chart you wish to build; Traditional or Matrix
- Autobuild Departments section,
- If there is a department column in your Excel file, put a checkmark in the Auto insert Department roles checkbox and Organimi will automatically insert department roles into your chart
- In the Select Department Header field, click the down arrow and select a department header
- Data Filters section,
- Put a checkmark in any of the checkboxes to exclude rows from the file if they are not fully defined
- Click APPLY OPTIONS to save your changes
- Click BACK to return to the previous screen
- Resulting Chart Information section, click the down arrow and select

6. Review which columns you would like to be imported:

- Select the Organimi fields which correspond to your data columns
- Click any cell to modify the data before importing
- Need to import a new custom field not yet in Organimi?
- Create your custom field
- Match it below to a column in your spreadsheet
7. Click NEXT: VALIDATE DATA FORMAT OR click BACK to return to the previous screen
8. On the Import Confirmation screen, click:

- COMPLETE IMPORT to generate the chart
- BACK to return to the previous screen
- CANCEL IMPORT to end the import process
