Adding/Removing Public Or Private Custom Fields

With custom fields, you can add fields to your member roster and choose to display them in your Org Chart using custom formats. 


Custom Field is included in Organimi's paid plans.


Creating A Custom Field 

  1. Open the Org Chart that you wish to change.

  2. There are two (2) ways to access custom fields, click the Custom Field button mceclip0.png     OR

    Click the Settings button mceclip1.png  and click Organizational Settings > Custom Fields

 3. Click the ADD NEW FIELD button or the Browse Suggested Fields link. 


              mceclip2.png  The Browse Suggested Fields link opens a window with a list of field names.



               a. Put a checkmark in the checkbox of any fields you wish to appear in your Chart.

               b. Click the Close Suggested Fields link to exit the window.  

               c. Click the ADD SELECTED FIELDS button to save your changes.


       4. Click the ADD NEW FIELD button. 



           a.  In the Custom Field Name, type the name of the new field. Make the name meaningful

                (LinkedIn or Salary).

            b.  In the Fields Applies to field, click the appropriate radio button.           


                      .  Choose Field Applies to Member/Person for fields describing the member such as

                                certificates achieved, or Start Date  

                      .  Choose Field Applies to Role for fields describing the role such as Salary category, or                                     Job  Skills required.         

            c.  The Field Type defaults to Text. Click the dropdown arrow to change the field type.  



            d.  If you wish the field to be Private ( The field will only be accessible by the organization

                 administrators and account owners), click the Private Field slider to enable it.

            e.  Put a checkmark in the Appear on Chart checkbox for the field to display in the Chart.

             f.  Click the SAVE FIELD button to save your changes. 

Displaying The Custom Field In Your Org Chart 

  1. With the Chart open, click the Format Your Chart icon.mceclip0.png

     mceclip1.png The Format Your Chart dialog box appears.



       2.  Click the slider to enable the custom field you added. 


   When enabled, the field jumps to the top of the dialog, and the slider appears blue.

        3.  Click the Done button.

Deleting Custom Fields

IMPORTANT: Deleting a custom field is permanent. All data associated with the field will be permanently deleted! There is no undo option for this function.


  1. Open the Chart with the custom field you wish to delete. 

  2. Click the Custom Field button. mceclip0.png

      3.   Click the trash can icon next to the field you wish to delete.

       4. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.

       5. Click the X to close the dialog box.
