Adding/Removing Public or Private Custom Fields in Organimi

With custom fields, you can create additional fields to your member roster and choose to display them on your org chart using custom formats [A] button.  Custom Fields are available on any of our Paid Plans.  

To create a custom field: 

  1. Login to your Organimi account by going to

  2. Navigate to the desired org chart, then click the Custom Field button: 

    Or, click on Organizational Settings, Custom Fields tab, Add New Field.

  3. Enter the name of the new field beside Custom Field Name * such as "LinkedIn" or "Salary", choose the desired settings, then click Save Field. Or, alternatively, click Browse Suggested Fields, then select the field(s) desired, and click the blue Add Selected Fields button at the bottom. 

    Note: Choose Field Applies to Member/Person for fields describing the member such as certificates achieved, or Start Date.  Choose Field Applies to Role for fields describing the role such as Salary category, or Job Skills required.

    If you wish the field to be Private (in which case the field will only be accessible by organization administrators and account owners, then enable the Private Field slider.

  4. To display the custom field in your org chart, click the A button.

  5. Click to enable the slider for the custom field you added. 

    When enabled, the field jumps to the top section of the dialog, and the slider appears with a blue dot to the right.

  6. Click Done.

  7. Lastly, proceed to add the custom field data by going to the Organization Roster, or, import your roster with all the custom field information. 

  8. Click Done.

    Once populated, the field data is displayed on the org chart:

Deleting Custom Fields:

Custom fields that you added to your Organimi org chart can be deleted at any time.

NOTE: Once you have deleted the custom field, all data associated with the field will be permanently deleted!  There is no undo option for this function.

To Delete Custom Fields in Organimi:

  1. Login to your Organimi account by going to

  2. Open the org chart which contains the custom field you wish to delete. 

  3. Click the Custom Fields button on the toolbar at the top:

    Or, click the Settings icon, then choose Organization Settings


    Or, from the main dashboard, click the Organization Settings tab at the top, then click the orange Organization Settings button.

  4. Select Custom Fields at the left, then click the trash can to the right of the field you wish to delete.

  5. A pop-up message appears: Are you sure? Click Yes to confirm that you really wish to delete the data field.

    Note: This is a permanent action, so once you have removed the custom field, all data associated with the field will be deleted. 

  6. Then click the x to close the dialog box.

Note: If you simply wish to "hide" the custom field, simply create or modify the chart format you are using to display your org chart information using the A button.
