Updating By Uploading the CSV File v5

There may be different occasions when you wish to update your roster via a CSV upload:

  • Suppose you have several new people that have joined your organization.
  • Or, suppose you have members in your roster whose information needs to be changed and updated.

Make all of the necessary changes in your CSV file (excel file).  If you are not sure how to create/update a CSV file, click here. (It would be handy if your CSV file contains a column of email addresses). You can update your roster list information via a CSV upload.  Similarly, you can update your entire chart with chart information (and the roster at the same time).  See instructions below for both scenarios: Updating a Roster, and Updating the Chart and Roster (at the same time).

Updating a Roster:

Update the roster through a roster upload (Bulk Import button), which updates any existing members with the same email address.  Therefore, if the system finds a record with an identical email address, it will update all of the information of the member, such as title, department, Boss ID, etc.  If emails are not defined, the secondary match uses "first name + last name".

(Note: It does not currently look at the ID or Employee number field as an identifier to update a person's title or department, etc.).

  1. Click Bulk Import.

  2. Click List of People (Roster).

  3. Drag and drop the updated CSV file onto the grey tile, (or click the grey tile and browse for the CSV file, then double-click on the file to select it).

  4. Review the information and use the field drop-downs to select the column that matches the field name provided.

Updating the Chart and Roster:

Update the chart and roster simultaneously through a CSV upload (via the Bulk Import button), which updates any existing members with the same email address.

4. Drag the CSV file onto the grey tile at the bottom of the screen, (or click the grey tile to browse for the file, then double-click on the file to select it).

5. Review the information and use the field drop-downs to select the column that matches the field name provided.
