- This feature is intended to hide certain fields from users with viewer access or public/embed link viewers.
- It restricts searching certain fields from the search bar for the users with above-mentioned permissions.
- Users with editing rights such as Account owners, Org admins and Editors will still be able to access this information from search bar.
Exception: The standard fields "First Name" and "Last Name" cannot be converted to non-searchable fields.
In order to make a field a non-searchable, users can follow the below steps
In the following example, we will make an existing standard field "Job Title" non-searchable.
- Go to the dashboard and click on the FIELDS tab
- Click on the field that you want to make non-searchable (here we will pick the standard field "Job Title")
- Look for the Is this field searchable section in the bottom right part of edit field dialog and click No to make the field non-searchable. Click Update Field to save the updated settings.
- Once the field settings have been updated
If the account owners/org admins want to enable/disable search on public/embed links, they can do so altering the Show Search option in the public/embed link settings. After making the changes, click on Save Settings.
If the search is disabled, the public link will look like below
