Backup Snapshots and Restoration

Safeguard your organization's charts, people, legends, and custom fields effortlessly – ensuring seamless restoration whenever needed with the backups.

To manually start a backup snapshots, click on the Backups tab under Org space menu for the organization you need to take backup for.

Click on “Take Backup Now'' to manually initiate a backup snapshot of the Organization. The system will show a confirmation dialog. Click on “Confirm” and it will initiate  a backup snapshot immediately.

To enable monthly backups, click on the “Enable Monthly Backups” button under the “Backups” tab. After enabling, the system will show you the next scheduled date for the automated monthly backup and also show a success message regarding enabling monthly backup snapshots.

To disable the monthly backup, click on the “Disable Monthly Backups” button under the “Backups” tab.

To delete an existing older backup snapshot, click on the checkbox next to the snapshot (that you want to delete) and then click the “Delete” button.

Restore the backup snapshot:

To restore items from an existing backup snapshot, click on the checkbox next to the snapshot and then click on the “Restore“ button. The system will ask you to select and confirm the charts that you want to restore. Upon confirming, it will create a new organization with the restored charts in it.

Account owners will also receive the notifications related to each back up and the restoration

Limitations/Features:

• Premium /Enterprise Feature only
• Only 12 backups per account /License (User can delete the old snapshots and add new ones, as needed).
• Automated backups will be deleted with the oldest backup deleted first).
• The user can enable/disable monthly backups (automated backups).
• If a user restores any of the backups, the system will create a new org with the restored charts in it. The user must have admin/owner level permissions to restore from a backup snapshot.
• Snapshots save the core organization elements including charts (governance, matrix, traditional), people, legends and custom fields.
• The snapshot does not save public/iframe links, print templates, user permission lists (admins/editors/viewers)Embedded charts can be restored only if selected. If not selected, the link will be removed from the main chart.
• Owners can manually initiate a backup snapshot of any organization in the Account and also restore them.
• Admins can manually initiate a backup snapshot of the organization(s) they have Admin access to . Admins can also restore the back up. The restored Organization will be accessible to all the owners and the Admin who initiated the backup snapshot. The owner can invite other users to the restored organization.
